A servo drive is a special electronic amplifier used to power electric servo motors, or automatic devices that use error-sensing negative feedback to correct the performance of a mechanism.
A sensor is attached to the servo motor to aid in reporting the motor’s actual status back to the servo drive. The servo drive then compares the actual motor status with the command motor status signal that was sent. The Servo drive then alters the voltage frequency or pulse width so that the motor can correct for any deviation from the command status.
Servo systems are used in CNC Machining, Automation, and Robotics applications, among many others. Servo Drives and Servo Motors provide an advantage over traditional DC and AC motors in their added capability to deal with motor feedback. This feedback is important because it is used to detect unwanted motion, and ensures the accuracy of commanded motion, with feedback being provided by encoders, tachometers, or resolvers.
Servos drives and servo motors, in constant speed changing use, have a greater life cycle than typical AC Wound Motors. Servo motors can also act as a break by shutting off generated electricity from the motors itself. (Delete)
Precision Zone is happy to announce specialization in the repair of and sales of AC Servo Drives and AC Servo Motors from one of the most trusted names in the industry, Mitsubishi.
Mitsubish Servo systems feature a line-up of 1, 2, and 3-axis integrated AC servo amplifiers. Numerous models enable combinations of motors with varying capacities and which make it possible to configure systems with compact dimensions.
Mitsubish Servo motors feature outstanding response and reliability with digital control. The employment of electronic gear has also helped to reduce the number of different types of detectors. With the digitalizing of operation, the level of the system’s integration has been raised, while the number of parts has been reduced and reliability increased.
